"This is going to be a wonderful trip," said the man sitting next to me. I could only see one of his eyes. The other eye was swollen shut by his large, purple eyelid.
I wondered how an old man such as himself ended up with such an ugly injury like that. I also wondered why he was traveling alone.
Maybe the two were connected somehow.
